Big fights lie ahead for Floyd Schofield Jr.
Schofield (20-0, 13 KOs) became the WBA lightweight champion with a unanimous decision over Lucas Bahdi at Wintrust Arena in Chicago Saturday on DAZN. The two fighters traded knockdowns in their 12-round clash for the vacant title.
Schofield’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, called for unification bouts to be next. Facing either Abdullah Mason (WBO) or William Zepeda (WBC) next would give the winner a chance to stamp their claim atop the 135-pound division.
There’s also the long history between Schofield and Shakur Stevenson. They were scheduled to fight in February 2025 before Schofield was hospitalized and had to withdraw during the week of the fight.
So who should Schofield face next?
