Shane Mosley Jr. is already eyeing up his next challenge after beating Serhii Bohachuk.
Mosley stopped Serhii Bohachuk in the sixth round at Meta Apex in Las Vegas on Zuffa Boxing 06 on Sunday. But the middleweight contender has already turned his attention toward his next fight. “So there’s a guy that fought on the very first Zuffa card in the main event,” Mosley said post-fight. “His name is Callum Walsh. Where’s he at?” “I think I made a statement. How many people have ever knocked out Bohachuk? Me and Brandon Adams. I think that’s awesome and I think I made a statement." Walsh , 25, kicked off Zuffa Boxing’s first-ever card in January. On that night, Walsh (16-0, 11 KOs) boxed circles around Carlos Ocampo, winning a wide unanimous decision. Since turning pro in 2014, Mosley has done his best to walk in the gigantic footsteps of his father, Shane Mosley Sr., a three-division champion and Hall of Famer. Yet, it’s been incredibly difficult to replicate his success. Now, however, under the Zuffa promotional banner, Mosley (23-5, 13 KOs) believes that he has a chance to carve out his own spot in the sport. At this point, it’s all about stacking up the wins and getting his hands on one a Zuffa title. "I came here to this promotion so that I can be the first Zuffa middleweight champion," he added. "That’s what I’m gonna do.”
